Stiamo assistendo all'emergere degli artisti basati sull'intelligenza artificiale come vera e propria disciplina creativa.

The biggest misconception to come out of Cannes this year is that AI is changing creativity. It isn't. What it's really changing is where value sits. For decades, the industry has attached value to execution, production and craft. AI is compressing those stages dramatically. The real scarcity now isn't the ability to make something. It's the ability to know what is worth making in the first place. That shift should be seen as an enormous opportunity for creatives, not a threat.
That's why we're beginning to see the emergence of AI artists as a genuine creative discipline rather than a technical one. The best AI artists aren't engineers replacing creatives. They're creatives with exceptional judgement, visual instincts and cultural awareness who have learnt to use AI as another creative medium. Some people call that "taste", but it's much more than aesthetics. It's the ability to recognise an idea with emotional pull, cultural relevance and commercial potential, then use technology to bring it to life. That's still remarkably difficult to prompt.
Ironically, the easier AI makes it to generate content, the more valuable human creative judgement becomes. The internet is already awash with competent, technically impressive AI output that leaves no lasting impression.
We're beginning to see the emergence of AI artists as a genuine creative discipline
What remains difficult to replicate are the qualities that have always driven preference: cultural relevance, emotional connection, distinctiveness and trust. Those aren't outputs of technology; they're outputs of the creative mind. In an AI-saturated market, judgement becomes the competitive advantage.
That also changes who agencies should be hiring. The next generation of exceptional creative talent may not have followed traditional career paths. They could be filmmakers, designers, illustrators, coders or entirely self-taught creators who instinctively understand how to combine human imagination with AI tools. The agencies that will stand apart won't simply be the ones with the best AI stack, but the ones with the strongest creative judgement and the confidence to pair brilliant strategists, writers, designers and AI artists together around an idea.
Ultimately, clients don't buy prompts, software or production techniques. They buy ideas that change how people think and feel. AI artists don't diminish that truth; they reinforce it. As AI makes production increasingly abundant, ideas become even more precious. The future won't belong to those who generate the most content. It will belong to those with the judgement to create the work that people actually remember.
